Cookie Policy
What we store in your browser, why, and how to change your mind.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files a website saves in your browser. Similar technologies — such as local storage and pixels — work in much the same way. They help sites remember your choices, keep things secure, measure visits and show relevant ads. In this policy, “cookies” covers all of these.
The cookies we use
Essential
Required for the Site to work and to remember your cookie choice. These can't be switched off in our settings.
| Name | Set by | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
ym_consent | YummyMetrics (local storage) | Remembers your cookie choices | Until you change it or clear your browser data |
Advertising
Used by Google AdSense to show ads, limit how often you see the same ad, prevent fraud and — if you allow it — personalise ads. Without consent, Google may still show non-personalised or limited ads, which use fewer identifiers.
| Name | Set by | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
__gads, __gpi | Google (yummymetrics.com) | Ad delivery, frequency capping, measurement | Up to 13 months |
__eoi | Google (yummymetrics.com) | Ad delivery and fraud prevention | Up to 6 months |
IDE, test_cookie | Google (doubleclick.net) | Personalised advertising; checks whether cookies are supported | Up to 13 months; 15 minutes |
NID, AEC, other Google cookies | Google (google.com) | Ad preferences, security and fraud prevention | Up to 13 months |
Google's cookie names change from time to time. See how Google uses cookies for the current list.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages and tools are useful, so we can improve them. It tells us things like pages viewed, approximate country, device type and how visitors arrived — not who you are. In the EEA, UK and Switzerland these cookies are set only if you allow Analytics in Cookie settings; without consent, Google receives only cookieless signals and sets no analytics cookies.
| Name | Set by | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga | Google Analytics (yummymetrics.com) | Distinguishes visitors so visits can be counted | Up to 2 years |
_ga_17JGL8YVMV | Google Analytics (yummymetrics.com) | Keeps track of the current session | Up to 2 years |
You can also block Google Analytics on every site with Google's opt-out browser add-on.
Contact form (HubSpot)
Our contact page embeds a form from HubSpot. When the form loads, HubSpot may set cookies such as hubspotutk, __hstc, __hssc and __hssrc to keep the form working, prevent spam and link submissions to a visitor. These last from the end of your session up to 6 months. They are set only on the contact page. See HubSpot's cookie information.
Fonts
We load fonts from Google Fonts. This sets no cookies, but your browser sends your IP address to Google to download the font files.
Managing your choices
- On YummyMetrics: use Cookie settings (also in the footer of every page) to accept, reject or customise non-essential cookies at any time.
- Global Privacy Control: if your browser sends a GPC signal, we switch off personalised advertising unless you choose otherwise.
- Google ads: manage personalisation at Google Ads Settings, or opt out of many ad networks at aboutads.info and youronlinechoices.eu.
- Your browser: most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings. Blocking all cookies may stop some features from working.
